PVJ for Android · Effective 24 October 2026

PRIVACY POLICY

PVJ — Portable VJ mixer ("PVJ", "the app") is made by Collective Unconscious (c-u.studio), the trading name of BUBBLE FIGHT Unipessoal LDA, Costa da Caparica, Portugal ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.

The short version: PVJ does not collect, store on our servers, share or sell any personal information. The app has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. It does not have permission to use the internet, so nothing it sees, hears or records can leave your phone through the app.

WHAT THE APP ACCESSES, AND WHY

Camera

PVJ asks for the camera only when you choose a feature that uses it: playing the live camera as a video source, or using the camera to fit the projected picture to a wall. Camera images are processed on your phone, in the moment. They are not saved unless you record your set (see Recordings), and they are never sent anywhere.

Microphone

PVJ asks for the microphone only when you turn on a feature that listens to sound: audio-reactive effects, tempo detection, or recording your set with sound. Sound is analysed on your phone, in the moment, to make the picture react to music. It is not saved unless you record your set with audio on, and it is never sent anywhere.

Your video clips and images

PVJ can read only the files, folders and zip files you pick with Android's file picker, at the moment you pick them. It does not have access to the rest of your storage and keeps no lasting access to what you picked. Clips and mask images you pick are copied into the app's own storage on your phone so they can be played; the originals are not changed. (If you linked a clips folder in an earlier test version of PVJ, the app keeps reading that folder until you copy its clips into PVJ, and then gives that access back.)

Setup files

If you use SAVE SETUP, PVJ writes one zip file with your settings, sequences, masks and mask images to the place you pick with Android's file picker. It contains no clips and no personal information, and it stays where you put it until you delete it. RESTORE SETUP reads such a file back.

Recordings

If you record your set, the recording is saved as a video file on your phone, in Movies/PVJ Recordings. It stays there until you delete it. If you choose to share a recording, Android hands the file to the app you pick; what that app does with it is covered by that app's own policy.

Settings

Your settings (tempo, effects, warps, masks, sequences) are stored on your phone, in the app's own storage.

WHAT THE APP DOES NOT DO

  • It does not connect to the internet. The app does not request the internet permission.
  • It does not collect personal information, usage statistics, crash reports or device identifiers.
  • It does not show advertising or include advertising or tracking software.
  • It does not require an account or sign-in.
  • It does not back up its data to the cloud.

LINKS OUT OF THE APP

The app may offer a link to our website (for example, to download extra video loops). Tapping it opens your phone's browser; the app itself does not go online. Our website and Google Play have their own privacy practices, which apply when you use them.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Everything PVJ stores is on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes its settings and the copies of the clips you imported; the files you imported them from are not touched. Recordings saved in Movies/PVJ Recordings and setup files you saved are your own files and stay until you delete them. Android's "Clear cache" for PVJ only removes thumbnails and temporary files; "Clear storage" removes PVJ's copies of your clips and its settings.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under the GDPR and Portuguese law you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because PVJ keeps everything on your phone, you exercise these rights directly: delete files, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall it. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, email us and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Portugal's data protection authority.

CHILDREN

PVJ is a tool for live visual performance and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If a future version of PVJ changes what it accesses or adds anything that goes online, we will update this policy and its effective date before that version is released.
